Content Management Systems, also known as CMS, are a powerful tool when it comes to customizing and maintaining your website. While we work on a number of CMS platforms, we prefer to develop our new site projects on the open source platform of WordPress. WordPress is known for it blogging prowess, but what many fail to understand is the vast ability of customization available within the platform.
Website design is not just graphical elements and fancy slogans, but also lays deeper in the architecture and intuition of the site. The structure of a website lends itself to how fast information is presented to the user. Complex structures create longer load times and finding information more difficult. Clear and concise structures load quicker, less click throughs and places the right information in the hands of the user faster. No flash, no wait time and of course mobile compliant.
On the other side of the website is the content management system, more specifically WordPress. Using Php and Mysql coding, we create custom websites not with custom front ends but also custom backends. We have created custom templates, faster information implementations for website updates, placing control of the website not in the web developers, but with the clients, where it should be. Time is money, get in, get out, get it done faster.
Websites have evolved over the years from simple pages of information to interactive portals. Your website is your portal, you have one hundred percent control over this space. How you present your company is key because the average time spent on your website by viewers is no more than 5 minutes, 10 minutes is considered an eternity. This is where design makes a huge impact. Colors, imagery, and text hierarchy add to your branding, but also are often the lasting elements within the user’s memory.
The web is a vast space of information constantly evolving and changing with information. Like a spider’s web, your website should be aimed at capturing your audience and keeping them close and informed.
A website is your portal to the world, the only place where you have one hundred percent control over the information that is displayed. Engaging content is key in keeping your audience within your circle of social and visual media with your website acting as the central hub for distribution of all information.
